Ilford's Ziana Butt BEM has had more to celebrate on and off the netball court over the past week.
Butt and her Knights Netball Club teammates travelled to the Mixed Nationals tournament in Loughborough at the weekend, as 20 teams battled it out for honours.
And they came out on top to be crowned champions, with Butt saying: "It's fantastic to see the growth in this area as there is an increasing number of boys and men taking up the sport, most thrilling is we won the tournament and are the Nationals Mixed winners!"
That success came after Butt was named onto a new British Asians for Sporting Excellence (BASE) committee by Sporting Equals, as part of South Asian Heritage month.
"I'm absolutely delighted to continue to help support change in sport through this opportunity," added Butt, who is joined on the committee by wheelchair rugby and basketball athlete Ayaz Bhuta, a Paralympic gold medalist, international wheelchair basketball coach Haj Bhania, chair of Khalsa Football Federation Gurdawar Dhaliwal and Manisha Tailor MBE, assistant head of coaching at QPR Youth Academy.
