Redbridge suffered FA Cup heartbreak after losing their extra preliminary round replay at New Salamis.

Held to a 2-2 draw at Oakside Stadium on Saturday, Motormen looked to be going through thanks to Ibrahim Kehinde's 20th-minute effort at Haringey Borough.

 

 

But their Isthmian North rivals hit back with just seconds of normal time remaining through Derek Asamoah to force extra time and saw Asamoah and Josh Williams add further goals in the final six minutes to run out 3-1 winners and book a date with Grays Athletic.

George Christou's side now prepare for their first league fixture of the season at Witham Town on Saturday.

Woodford Town were celebrating another win in the Essex Senior League after beating White Ensign 2-1 at Ashtons.

And there were late wins for May & Baker and Hutton in the Thurlow Nunn League Division One South cup, against Barkingside and Clapton Community respectively.

Bakers fell behind at Cricklefield Stadium, as Lee Harris put Barkingside in front three minutes before half-time.

But they battled back for a 2-1 triumph thanks to goals from Anthony Connor and substitute Anthony Cooke in the final five minutes.

"Good win for the squad tonight, pleased with the performance especially with the multiple changes to the side that see us to victory against Park View," said manager Jimmy Donald.

"Barkingside tried to make things difficult for us and they did on a few occasions, then went aead against the run of play.

"A change in shape and style of play ultimately got the best out of the team on the pitch, the quality shone through brighter and whilst not even close to our best, we got the result that was warranted and deserved."

Hutton made it four wins from four in all competitions after beating previously unbeaten Clapton Community by the same margin at Billericay Town.

The top two both made changes from the weekend, with Adil Ali, Sam Marchi and Patrick Baird given debuts by the visitors.

And the scoreline remained blank during a cagey first half, with James Briggs seeing a free-kick saved for Clapton Community.

Muhammad Mikaeel opened the scoring with a shot on the turn, but Hutton drew level from close range before a host of substitutions took place.

And play swung from end to end as the clock ticked down, before Hutton grabbed an injury-time clincher.

 

 

Meanwhile, east London rivals Hackney Wick were on the wrong end of a 6-1 home defeat against Holland and Tower Hamlets were beaten 5-0 at Cannons Wood.

Clubs return to league action on Saturday, with Essex Senior League fixtures including Athletic Newham v Little Oakley, Barking v Stanway Rovers, Frenford v Coggeshall, Hullbridge Sports v Romford, Saffron Walden v Woodford Town, Sporting Bengal v Buckhurst Hill and White Ensign v Ilford.

In the Thurlow Nunn League, it's Barkingside v Cannons Wood, clapton Community v Basildon Town, Dunmow Town v Clapton, Harlow Town v May & Baker, Newbury Forest v Hutton and Wormley Rovers v Tower Hamlets.
