An East London burger joint is among the finalists for Uber Eats’ UK & Ireland Restaurant of the Year awards.
Junglees, which has branches at High Road, Leyton, and High Street, Ilford, is one of 12 eateries to make it as a finalist in the awards this year for the on-demand food delivery company.
It made the list from a pool of 130 restaurants that were nominated.
Established in 2021, Junglees says it offers gourmet burgers and wild wings after founder Nomaan Mahmood ditched his job as a corporate lawyer and began exploring the option of making his own business.
Mr Mahmood said: “We are incredibly honoured and humbled to win 'The Regional finalists for London.'
“This achievement reflects the hard work, passion, and dedication of our entire team at Junglees as well as the trust and support of our amazing and loyal customers.
“We remain committed to delivering exceptional culinary experiences, and this recognition inspires us to continue pushing the boundaries of creativity and hospitality sector. Thank you to everyone who made this possible!”
Matthew Price, general manager for UK, Ireland and Northern Europe at Uber Eats said: “A massive congratulations to our London finalist, Junglees.
“The calibre of businesses taking part in our Restaurant of the Year Awards continues to grow. I look forward to welcoming the Junglees team to the awards in November, and hearing more about their journey as a small restaurant business.”
Chef and television broadcast Andi Oliver, street food connoisseur Kieran Monlouis and 2023 winner Josh Kleiner from Sandwich Sandwich will be part of the judging panel during the awards in November.
