A prolific drug dealer has been jailed for his role in a "large-scale" operation where he facilitated cocaine sales of more than £200,000.

Rourke Lorenzo David, 36, of Smeaton Road, Chigwell, was sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court yesterday (August 29) to six years imprisonment for conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.

A Met Police spokesperson said David was suspected by officers in the Woodford Green area of being a "significant figure" in a "large-scale drug operation" between April and June 2020.

Intelligence revealed David to be a "middleman" in facilitating cocaine sales valued at about £213,150.

PC Mia Marett Gregory, leading the investigation, said: "We are committed to taking drugs off our streets and combatting the sale of dangerous and illegal substances which pose a threat to our communities.

“Those that profit from the illegal drugs trade should be prepared to feel the full force of the law and I hope this sentence goes some way in deterring criminals."

The court heard how David coordinated cocaine sales between groups aimed at selling the drugs to buyers across west and central London.

Acting as a business, he provided samples to buyers and arranged for courier services, payments and delivery of drugs.
