A curry house in Ilford that has been open for almost 60 years is closing.
Golden Curry in Clements Road will stop trading on September 4, customers have reportedly been told.
The Indian takeaway was established in 1966, with very few changes made to the store's sign in recent years.
The closure was reportedly confirmed by the takeaway over WhatsApp to customers, with a screenshot of the message posted on Facebook.
It read: "Dear customers, I regret to inform you that Golden Curry, Ilford will be closing. Our last day of business will be September 4 2024.
"It was a difficult decision to make but due to the current financial climate, it was in our best interest to close.

"We, the team at Golden Curry, would like to thank you for all your custom and support over the years."
Muhammad Ali, director of Golden Curry, confirmed the closure but did not wish to provide further comment.
