East London Asian restaurants have been named as potential winners of an Asian restaurant and takeaway award.
Nine restaurants across east London have made it onto the list of shortlisted nominees in the Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards (ARTA).
The annual awards celebrate and recognise the best of the UK's Pan Asian cuisine in both national and regional awards.
Restaurants and takeaways are nominated by customers, with the winners decided by a judging panel.
This year, the awards ceremony will take place on October 6 at London's Royal Lancaster.
1. Singam Bay, Ilford
Singam Bay restaurant is located in Cranbrook Road.
The restaurant has successfully made it onto the final ten Asian restaurants shortlisted for the Regional Restaurant of the Year for Essex.
2. Grand Cholan, Canary Wharf
The Grand Cholan in Turnberry Quay is another east London Indian restaurant to be shortlisted.
The restaurant's menu is inspired by the Chola dynasty of the Tamil Kingdom, whose rule saw new spice blends and dishes brought to Southern India, Southern Asia, and Sri Lanka.
It is one of the potential winners of the Regional Restaurant of the Year award for City and East.
3. Sheba Restaurant, Aldgate
Sheba Restaurant in London's iconic Brick Lane is one of four Aldgate-based Asian restaurants hoping to win Regional Restaurant of the Year for City and East.
According to its website, the restaurant has been serving Indian cuisine to locals since 1974.
4. Eastern Eye Balti House, Aldgate
The Eastern Eye Balti House can also be found in Brick Lane and is within a two minute walk of fellow Indian restaurant Sheba Restaurant.
It first opened in 1992.
5. Bento Bab, Aldgate
Bento Bab is a Korean restaurant, and has multiple stores in London. Their Aldgate location can be found in Commercial Street.
The restaurant not only offers customers authentic Korean food, but also offers the opportunity to do karaoke.
6. City Spice, Aldgate
Another shortlisted restaurant based in Brick Lane.
At City Spice, traditional Indian recipes are fused with Bengali inspirations, to bring customers unique South Asian cuisine.
7. Yaz Restaurant, Chingford
Another shortlisted restaurant for the Regional Restaurant of the Year award for City and East is Yaz Restaurant.
They can be found in Signal Walk and is one of two Chingford-based restaurants looking to win the award.
8. Bollywoods, Chingford
Bollywoods can be found in Old Church Road and has also been shortlisted for the Regional Restaurant of the Year award for City and East.
9. Dishoom, Shoreditch
This Indian restaurant in Boundary Street is another east London restaurant shortlisted with the top ten nominees for the City and East awards.
Their east London venue opened in 2012 and takes inspiration from roots in Bombay.

ARTA's CEO, Mohammed Munim, said: “Asian restaurants and takeaways have made a significant contribution to the UK economy, both historically and in recent times.
"They deserve recognition and rewards for their efforts.
"Each nominee is a worthy winner and we look forward to celebrating with them all at the award ceremony on 6th October.”
