Speed limits for residential roads in one part of Ilford are set to be changed.
Redbridge Council has proposed to enforce 20 miles per hour speed limits in six roads within the Commonwealth Estate.
It is believed to have been given the name in light of several streets it encompasses being named after cities of former British colonies.
Heron Mews, Myrtle Road, and Perth Road have been confirmed by Redbridge Council as roads that could be made into 20 mile per hour zones.
The existing 20 mile per hour speed limit in Balfour Road and Thorold Road could also be extended as part of the proposal.
In Ley Street, a stretch of road between Hainault Street and Myrtle Road has been identified as a potential 20 mile per hour zone.
The council's proposal also mentions intent to consolidate the existing speed zones in other roads of the Commonwealth Estate.
