Police are urging witnesses to come forward after a young man was stabbed on a "busy" bus.

The Metropolitan Police's latest appeal comes after a man, 19, was attacked with a knife aboard a 169 bus in High Road, Barkingside on Monday (June 24).

He was taken to an east London hospital by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) and road closures were put in place.

Det Insp Jonathan Potter of the Met’s Roads and Transport Command urged people to get in touch.

"This was a violent attack on a busy London bus and I am sure that there are witnesses to the incident who have not yet come forward.

"I urge those people to get in touch without delay," he added.

Det Insp Potter said police were working hard to reduce violence and educate young people about the consequences attached to knife crime.

The 19-year-old is in a stable condition and enquiries are ongoing to find the suspects. No arrests have been made.
