A woman fined nearly £5,000 after repeatedly leaving rubbish dumped on the street just yards from her home in Ilford has been back in court again.
Estera Padure breached a Community Protection Notice ordering her to stop fly-tipping.
She was summonsed to Barkingside Magistrates Court for a second time, but failed to attend on May 14 and the case was proved in her absence.
The 32-year-old from Highbury Gardens was fined with costs totalling another £1,460.
“There is no excuse for fly-tipping,” Redbridge Council’s John Richards said. “A minority of people bring down their neighbourhood which destroys the very fabric of community life.
“We won’t hesitate to take action against those committing ‘grime crimes’.”
Padure was first taken to court in November for fly-tipping in Kent View Gardens.
But she continued dumping rubbish into the New Year, the council’s Neighbourhood Enforcement officers found. This included broken beds, wood and rubbish all piled in her front garden in a breach of the court order.
Padure was slapped with a £100 Fixed Penalty Notice which remained unpaid, leading to the latest prosecution.
All rubbish dumping reported to the council is investigated, with legal action taken against perpetrators if evidence is found. The council aims to clear fly-tips within 24 hours.
