An apartment block in Ilford could gain another nine apartments.
In a planning application submitted to Redbridge Council by the owner of Carlton House, permission has been sought to build new flats on unused terraces of the existing block.
Carlton House in High Road is an apartment building with 112 homes and commercial units spanning across ten storeys.
The application has been made following reported discussions with the council to amend the appearance of the building by balancing the elevations.
If approved, the roof of the unused terraces on the ninth and tenth floors of Carlton House would be extended to facilitate the nine new units.

To the tenth floor eight of the new flats would be built, with four one-bed apartments, and four two-bed apartments.
The final apartment would be added to the ninth floor, and would have three bedrooms.
The unused communal terraces on the second, third, fifth and seventh floors would be landscaped to help improve the quality of communal spaces, according to the plans.
Landscaping proposals include a new play area on the second floor terrace.
