Two men treated in hospital for stab wounds have been charged in connection with "several fights" in Gants Hill.
The two men in their 20s were due to appear in court today (January 29) charged with affray.
We await an update on the outcome of today's hearing.
A Met Police spokesperson said: “Two men, aged in their 20s, have been charged with affray following an incident in Ilford on Sunday, 28 January.
“Police were called at 03:50hrs to reports of several fights on Cranbrook Road.
"Those involved had left prior to police arriving, however two men were later arrested at hospital where they had self-presented for treatment to stab injuries.
“They were subsequently taken into police custody where they remained until their appearance before magistrates on Monday, 29 January.”
Social media users claimed to have seen "police red tape" in the area following reports of the fights.
