A woman who kept dumping rubbish in the street just yards from her house in Ilford has been fined and ordered to pay costs of nearly £5,000.
Estera Padure was found guilty on five charges of fly-tipping and breaching a Community Protection Notice from Redbridge Council.
The 32-year-old was linked to five separate fly-tipping incidents in Kent View Gardens over a period of six months, Barkingside magistrates heard.
Council enforcement officers were first alerted to the rubbish in Kent View Gardens by a neighbour.
They found bags of food waste liable to attract vermin such as rats and mice, as well as other household items included an old pushchair and a kids' scooter.
The mess was traced back to Padure’s house in Highbury Gardens just 50 yards away, where her front garden was littered with more rubbish.
She was given a warning letter — which magistrates heard was ignored - and she continued dumping her rubbish in the street.
Padure’s dumping created regular mess on the street for neighbours.
After she ignored the council notice ordering her to comply with directions to stop rubbish being left on the pavement, the problems continued.
Her waste bin was left overfilled along with waste bags and loose rubbish left on the ground.
A £100 Fixed Penalty Notice was left unpaid, which led to the council taking court action.
Padure was charged with breaching the order and five incidents of fly-tipping. She pleaded guilty on November 21 and was fined with costs totalling £4,990, including payment for clearing up the mess each time.
All fly-tips reported to Redbridge Council are recorded and investigated, with enforcement action being taken if evidence is found. The authority aims to clear all fly-tipping known to it within 24 hours of being reported. It can be reported on the council's website redbridge.gov.uk.
“There is no excuse for fly-tipping,” Cllr Khayer Chowdhury warned. “We won’t hesitate to take action against those committing grime crimes.
“Nobody wants to see their street turned into an eyesore or a dumping ground, but there is a minority of people that bring down their neighbourhood.”
