A former Metropolitan Police officer is set to appear in court accused of stealing two police issued batons.
Shoaib Akram, 28, will appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Monday (October 23).
He is charged with theft by employee and possession of an offensive weapon in a private place.
The alleged theft offence is said to have taken place on May 16 in Ilford, when he was a Met Police employee.
The charge sheet alleges that on the same day he was in possession of a friction lock baton at his home address on Dovedale Avenue in Clayhall, Ilford.
