A fire shut a main road and damaged a restaurant with homes above this morning (Tuesday, March 28).
London Fire Brigade (LFB) was called just after 10am to reports of the blaze at the junction between A118 High Road and Barley Lane in Goodmayes.
High Road was closed both ways for a period of time and bus route 86 was put on a diversion.

The fire was brought under control by 10.56am and there were no reports of any injuries.
A spokesperson for the LFB said: "Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire at a restaurant on High Road in Goodmayes this morning.

"A small part of the restaurant, with homes above, was damaged by fire.
"Six people left the building before firefighters arrived. There were no reports of any injuries.
"The Brigade was called at 1002 and the fire was under control by 1056.
"Firefighters from Ilford and Dagenham fire stations attended the scene."
