Tower Hamlets bounced back from a heavy 6-0 defeat to St Margaretsbury on the weekend with a comfortable 4-0 victory against Barkingside last night.
A brace from Luke Thomas, a goal from Luke With and an own goal sealed the three points for Hamlets at Mile End Stadium.
Barkingside are now 11 games without a win in the Essex Senior League and remain at the foot of the table.
Thomas opened the scoring in the fifth when he fired home from a tight angle well out near the corner flag to give his side the lead.
It got worse for Michael Walther’s side as a free-kick from near the away dugout was delivered into the near post and sliced into the net by one of their own defenders.
Striker With then added a third as he picked up the ball with one defender to beat before slotting it home to take a 3-0 lead into the break.
Hamlets then added a fourth in the second-half thanks to Thomas who grabbed his second of the night.
AJ Ashanike tweeted after the match: “I asked my Tower Hamlets boys some hard questions today and they answered me well.
“Three points, four goals and a clean sheet again.
“We go again boys.”
Before adding: “Well done to Barkingside for not giving up on Michael Walther.
“We are all having a bad start but soon enough we’ll be out of it.
“All the best lads.”
