The second anniversary was still so surreal. Covid-19 came and took you away. Traces of you are everywhere, as memories flood in the laughter and tears; and in the hearts and minds that hold you, dear. God carried you in his arms on April 5th 2020 and on the day I laid you to rest on May 20th 2020. But, there are no words that could ever explain; for every other word inflicted further pain, like the lyrics of the song Joy and Pain are like Sunshine and Rain. 2022 would have been your 60th year! A birthday surprise - an American affair! The Bellagio Hotel, Las Vegas, USA. The Fountains; the water shows; the music; the lights at play. Stretched limo; Veuve Clicquot; the Spa; Cirque du Soleil. The roller-coaster ride on top of the Strat Hotel, which we both knew you’d run like a bat out of hell! Just as I had planned for your 50th Birthday year! Then fly back down to the Atlantis, Bahamas. We had always promised to return there. Swim with the Dolphins; the River Rides; the Spa; the Cabanas; Fine Dining; Comedy Club; Casino - memories we shared. August 2022 would have been 21 years of marriage. But once again, the time, so precious, got away. The Holidays - Surprise! You never knew where we were going. I always told you to guess from the airport destinations shown. But Heaven wasn’t on that list. Forty-eight hours was just too sudden. Still, we made the most of our time. I was halfway through my life’s bucket list when you joined mine. We are not here for long, so Carpe Diem! Life’s not promised as everyone comes to find in the end. May God watch over you and keep you safe, wherever you may be. Rest in peace here until we meet again. Keep smiling, laughing, and holding court in Heaven. Love always your Wife & Sons xxxxxx
